Mana Zhou grew up in a small town in China with only one movie theatre that fits about of forty.  When she came to Los Angeles, the mecca of the film industry in the world, that she rediscovered her love and passion for film. As a result, she became a student of the Santa Monica College Film Program and learned a great deal of fundamentals in filmmaking in the past two years.  She was given the opportunity to produce a short film named “Cora” last year, which featured Latarsha Rose, known for “The Hunger Games”, as the lead. Given the insufficient time and budget, the production team managed to maximize their resources as well as optimize the streamlined and fast-paced workflow to provide high-quality solutions on a regular basis to fulfill the director’s vision. Under the supervision of the executive producers, world-renown director Salvador Carrasco and producer Annie Spielberg, she pushed myself to become a fast learner and quickly adapt to any busy and demanding environment. Her past experience has prepared her well to move further in the field. As a creative, flexible and dedicated young filmmaker who is willing to develop her full potential, she believes that participating in the Brave New World Program will not only sharpen her skills, but also help her to reach her goals.
